How may we help you?
OneDrive and SharePoint have new icons that you may not have seen before. These are outlined below:
![]() | This is the OneDrive icon you'll see in your system tray (by the computer clock). |
![]() | This indicates your OneDrive sync is paused and not syncing. You can right-click the icon and select Resume Syncing to unpause. |
![]() | This indicates an issue syncing a file or folder that you have saved. If you click the icon it will tell you more about the sync problems. IT can help resolve this issue if you have trouble. |
![]() | This shows that syncing is in progress. It could be uploading new or changed files to the cloud or updating your listing of files that already exist on the cloud. |
![]() | This icon shows next to files in File Explorer that exist on the cloud, but that you do not have a copy of on your PC. When you open one of these files it will download a copy first before opening. |
![]() | This icon shows next to files in File Explorer that exist in the cloud and that you also have a copy of on your PC. This file will open without having to download again. This non-filled circle also indicates that the file is not always synced. Meaning, if someone else changes this file, or if you change it from another device, the icon will change to the cloud one above and it will redownload when you try opening it again. |
![]() | This icon is similar to the icon above, but the solid circle indicates that you will always automatically sync this file. If someone else changes the file, your PC will download a copy even if you aren't opening it at that time. |
![]() | This icon shows next to files in File Explorer that are currently in the process of being synced either to your PC or to the cloud. |
![]() | This person icon shows next to files or folders in File Explorer that you are sharing with someone else |
![]() | The chain icons show next to folders that are shortcuts to another folder that has been shared. You'll see this next to the Company SharePoint if you have linked it.![]() |
![]() | The three blue lines on the top left of a file or folder indicate that this is a new file or folder. This is only seen when using your web browser to access OneDrive and SharePoint. |
