Pricing at Metro is calculated through the Discount Model in M3, our ERP system.

For each Division (CA1/CA2/US1) there is a Base Price List for all Flooring (FLR) items. The Discount Model will then calculate a Percent Discount from the Base Price List. This calculation is performed based on combinations of Item Attributes such as Category & Collection.

There are various unique Discount Models tailored for each Division. Each Customer is attached to a Discount Model. Within each Discount Model, there is logic that sets the default Discount Percentage for each Item Collection.

The Discount Model also has the flexibility to allow for discreet Customer & Collection specific Discounts

Below is an overview for selecting a net price for a customer tied to Discount Model US_PL5.

First, the base price from the Divisional Base Price List USWA1_PL00 for item 2132183 of $8.00 is found.

Second, the combination of item Category (ABD) + Collection Code (A442) yields a discount percent of 56.38%

The Net Price is then calculated (8 - (8*0.5638)) = 3.49.
