1 STEP


1. Start by opening Excel and creating a new blank worksheet.

2. Select the ‘Data’ tab. 

3. On the toolbar, click the ‘Get Data’ section.  

4. A drop-down menu will appear.  

Click ‘From Analysis Services’.



2 STEP


1. The ‘Data Connection Wizard’ window should appear.  

2. In the ‘Server name' text box type: SM3INBIBVDB01PD.

    This is the name of the server with the data cubes used for pivot tables.

3. Click ‘Next’.



3 STEP


1. The ‘Select Database and Table’ window will be displayed.  

2. Choose the database and data cube for the pivot table.

3. Click 'Next.'  



4 STEP


1. The ‘Save Data Connection File and Finish’ window will be displayed.  

2. Click ‘Finish.’


NOTE:  If an alert pops up stating the connection files exist, click ‘OK’ to move on.


5 STEP


1. The 'Import Data' window will be displayed.  

2. Click ‘OK.’

 

The pivot table should now appear.
